Did you know that Scandinavian landscape architects visit public spaces in the snow to observe and learn from the actual paths people take from A to B?

They're known in the field as desire paths, those direct routes worn into the grass that contradict the designated paths laid out for us by designers.

And in the snow, when the officially mapped paths are invisible, the instinctive paths we take are clear to see.
