A simple but well mannered shrub, Weigela florida is easy to grow and relatively undemanding. It's a staple for many a shrub border and comes in a wide range of foliage colours. The flowers are usually a deep pink although white forms also exist.
Popular cultivars include: 'Variegata', a smaller plant with cream edges to the leaves. 'Rubidor', a striking lime to yellow foliage with bright pink flowers best grown in semi-shade.
