Viburnum tinus

Viburnum tinus is a useful is not particularly stunning evergreen shrub. Tolerant of most soils and locations including coastal sites, it forms an ideal glossy green backdrop for more showy performers.

The plant is not entirely devoid of interest, long flowering clusters of small white star shaped flowers appear during the winter from pink tinged buds and continue to through to spring.

The flowers are followed by small black fruits and the plant will eventually reach 2 to 3m in size.
