We do like Camassia leichtlinii .
Its strong, strappy, glossy foliage, which appears in Spring, is followed in early Summer by upward-reaching spire-like stems supporting abundant star-shaped flowers which open sequentially from the bottom of the stem upwards.
Camassia range from pale lilac to a strong periwinkle purple-blue, with bright orangey-yellow stamens which radiate out from the large button like central ovary.
Camassia leichtlinii can flower in late spring but here in Scotland we normally see them in early summer.
