Amelanchier laevis
Amelanchiers give us a tantalising mix of exuberant spring blossom layered over bronze leaves. In autumn these leaves turn to delectable shades of fiery red, orange and yellow. Edible deep blue fruits are also offered at the end of summer, apparently sweet to the taste. We have yet to try them for ourselves!
