Jason Russell- garden designer

a potted history

From a childhood spent outdoors to holidays in rural Connemarra it was inevitable that Jason would lean towards a love of plants and landscapes.

After a summer working for the National Trust's garden at Inveresk Lodge he embarked on a 2 year course at The Royal Botanic Gardens in Edinburgh in horticulture with plantsmanship. Studying with the inspiring and dedicated George Anderson he developed a passion for plants furthered by college summers working in the botanical gardens and in various plant nurseries.

After graduating he worked in Glasgow as garden design assistant to Lynn Harris before setting up his own company, Jason Russell Garden Design. Specialising in water features he designed and constructed gardens for several years before deciding to refine the business and create twig garden design. He now focuses exclusively on design.

He also lectures in garden design and plant sciences at SAC, Edinburgh as well as being invited to talk at garden shows and gardening groups.
