• Arctic plant revived after 32,000 years - a fascinating article in the New York Times about a campion grown from seed frozen in the Siberian tundra for 32,000 years also caught our attention.

• snowdrop mania - The Daily Mail reported on the craze for unusual snowdrops as a single Galanthus woronowii 'Elizabeth Harrison' bulb sells for £725 in auction.
